Inpatient Services Hospitalist
Requirements:
PhD, MD, or professional degree in medicine from an accredited medical school; current MD or DO Texas License. Certification in BCLS and ACLS; current state and federal narcotics licenses. 1-3 years of physician or hospitalist experience preferred. Experience with hospital medicine preferred.
Job Description:
Provides medical care and oversight to hospitalized patients. Responsibilities including but not limited to: provides diagnosis, treatment, consultation and follow up to adult inpatients, observation patients, and swingbed patients; order review, and interpret test results; educate patients and/or families about their current medical issues; assist with the care plan and discharge plan of each patient through the continuum of their hospital stay; maintains legible, timely, accurate and confidential medical records; documents all medical evaluations, diagnosis, procedures, treatment outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations; provides ongoing oversight of appropriateness criteria for patient bed placement; utilizes the hospital Electronic Health Record (EHR) to maintain timely, accurate, and complete patient medical records.
