Quality and Safety
Memorial Medical Center is dedicated to quality patient care and patient safety. The information below describes our programs aimed at quality and safety, and the ways in which they are measured.Quality Improvement
The Quality Improvement department is ultimately responsible for assuring that patients receive quality, competent care. The department reviews the care provided by physicians, nurses, and all other support staff to ensure that it is of the highest quality and that all procedures are necessary and appropriate. The Quality department works with an organizational team to assure the most effective discharge planning for each individual patient.Memorial Medical Center is among a nationwide group of hospitals participating in the Hospital Quality Alliance (HQA). The HQA is a national collaboration managed by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) that is committed to information about hospital performance accessible to the public and encouraging efforts to improve quality. To participate, we are required to report on quality indicators covering topics related to Heart Attack, Heart Failure, Pneumonia, Stroke, and Surgical Care Infection Prevention. We are also working with the assistance of Texas Center for Quality and Patient Safety on collaborations to eliminate Hospital Acquired Conditions (On the CUSP: CLABSI and CAUTI).
